'If students can't learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they learn' (Ignacio Estrada, via Tomlinson)

Films Follow-Up

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

ATOM (Australian Teachers of Media) have many study guides available for film studies.  Most of them are for secondary school students, but there are some suitable for primary school and they are free to teachers for the first 18th months after publication.  After that they can be bought for a modest fee (currently $4.95) from The Education ShopFilm Education UK also publish some of the guides – these are free.

NB Resources for film that is viewed as part of an integrated unit (e.g. the Beatrix Potter unit for Preps) will be included with resources for that unit (see the Curriculum Literature Units pages).  Resources on this Films Follow-Up page are for one-off films that are designed to teach film viewing skills as recommended in the SLAV Teacher Librarian Program and/or to introduce or promote particular authors or titles.
